These Six Fighters can become the King of the 2020 Heavyweight

Anthony Joshua returned to being the King of WBA, IBF, WBO heavyweight after seizing his champion belt from Andy Ruiz Jr. in a duel on December 7 last. Deontay Wilder still hasn’t stepped down from the WBC Heavyweight throne.

How was the Heavyweight fight in the 2020 boxing world? Who will be the new King of the true Heavyweight? Six names are estimated to be candidates for the Heavyweight ruler.

With the IBF, WBA and WBO championship belts back down after defeating Ruiz Jr in their rematch, Joshua holds all but WBC. However, the shadows of removing the IBF and WBO belts haunt Joshua if he does not refuse the mandatory fight against the mandatory challengers from IBF and WBO.

Kubrat Pulev became a mandatory challenger from IBF who was at the forefront to challenge Joshua in 2020. Oleksandr Usyk who is a mandatory challenger from WBO is ready to harass Joshua.

Deontay Wilder

WBC Champion is unbeaten in 43 of the longest-running battles in the Heavyweight. Wilder will meet Tyson Fury for the second time in Las Vegas, the United States on February 22. The re-duel of Widler vs Furt 2 is believed to be tougher than the controversial first volume.

Tyson Fury

With a new coach behind him, Fury became a frightening challenger to Deontay Wilder. Victory will make it twice champion, like Joshua. But unlike Joshua, Fury is still undefeated.

Dillian Whyte

2019 was a tough test for Whyte’s mentality in his efforts to become a heavyweight world champion. Especially his ambition to challenge Deontay Wilder who always hit rock walls. Starting from avoiding Wilder to doping cases that were allegedly accused him although ultimately not proven.

Oleksandr Usyk

Former undisputed explorer class champion and Olympic gold medal winner is a newcomer to the Heavyweight and is a mandatory challenger to Joshua’s WBO belt.

Joshua said there would be “no problem” to stage the fight in 2020, but Usyk might have to wait after Pulev.

Derek Chisora

Aged 35 with 41 battles, Chisora has never been a world champion. If he drops Usyk, it will be Chisora’s way to strengthen his status as a mandatory challenger.
