Sky Television has made a huge move with its new streaming app as a major new and improved form to its Sky Sport package.
The announcement indicates that Sky Group is willing to go along with Spark Sport in the streaming market, while focusing on one of their biggest strengths, their sports coverage.
12 dedicated sport channels
From August 1, 2019, Sky Sport will be increased to 12 sport-specific channels in HD , replacing what is currently Sky Sport 1 to 4, plus the two ESPN channels.
The new package includes four specific channels for cricket, rugby, football and golf, which will deliver massive sports coverage both live and other, including classic replays and documentary movies.
Another five channels will feature most of the rugby, netball, league and motorsport.
Channels across SKY will also include a brand new 24/7 Sky Sport News channel which will feature the content from Sky Sports News UK and Fox Sports News Australia.
In addition, the news channel will also include live coverage of press and news conferences.
