Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo to host the 2026 Winter Olympics
The Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo will host the 2026 Winter Olympics, following a vote by the members of the International Olympic Committee on Monday.
The Italian candidacy beat Stockholm.
These two were the only remaining nominations after four other cities – Switzerland’s Sion, Japan’s Sapporo, Austria’s Graz and Canada’s Calgary – abandoned the race because of concerns about the cost of the event.
