The visitors’ winning goal came nine minutes before the match ended. Receiving Che Adams’s breakthrough bait, Danny Ings was able to escape from the guard of the Leicester defender.
He then released a kick that could not dam Scheimechel. Score 2-1 successfully maintained by the Saints until the game ended.
This defeat leaves Leicester in second place with 44 points. But their position is threatened by Manchester City.
The Citizens who are only one point behind Leicester will play on Sunday (1/12/2020) against Aston Villa. As for Southampton, an additional three points leads them to 12th with 28 points from 22 matches.
