Bryce James, a basketball player at Duquesne University, said on Sunday that the school had offered him a Division I scholarship. LeBron James’s kid, Bryce, is ready to take the next step in his basketball career. Bryce is 15 years old.
In an Instagram Story published on Sunday, Bryce announced that he has gotten a scholarship offer to play basketball at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, his first Division I school.
Along with the school’s emblem, he tweeted, “Blessed to receive my first d1 offer from Duquesne #godukes.”
Duquesne University is a special place for the James family. LeBron James played for the team’s head coach, Keith Dambrot, back when they were both at Akron, Ohio’s St. Vincent-St. Mary High School.
Sports Illustrated reports that the team’s assistant coach, Dru Joyce III, played high school basketball with LeBron.
CBS Sports reported that Bryce, a rising sophomore, will play for Sierra Canyon School’s junior varsity team this year, while Bronny, a four-star prospect for the class of 2023, will play for the school’s varsity team.
According to CBS Sports, the brothers spent their summer playing basketball with the California Basketball Club in international competition. LeBron posted earlier this month of his joy at seeing his sons play together in a game, writing,

The four-time NBA champion shared a video on Instagram of him and his sons shooting hoops at the Los Angeles Lakers’ practise facility.

The Lakers player told The Athletic in February that he had no plans to retire until he has a chance to play in the NBA with Bronny.
