The Tour de France 2020 will start with two mountain stages around Nice, the organisers announced on Monday.
The initial stage will be a 170-kilometer course around the city of the Costa Azul, but it is expected to be decided in a final sprint.
The test will serve as a warm-up for a 190-kilometer stage that includes three slopes.
The 2020 Tour will take place from 27 June to 19 July.
