The organizer of the T20 World Cup does not flinch despite the possible clash with other sports

Organizers of the ICC T20 World Cup are optimistic about organizing a successful tournament, even if it directly competes with Australian soccer codes due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The men’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to be played from October 18 to November 15, has been in doubt due to the outbreak of coronavirus that has stopped the entire sports calendar.

With the Australian Football League (AFL) and National Rugby League (AFL) seasons suspended, they can now face the T20 World Cup when they resume.

“We want to give ourselves the best possible opportunity to move forward as planned, so there is no imminent or quick decision,” said Nick Hockley, executive chairman of the organizing committee for the T20 World Cup, according to cricket.com.au. .

“Hopefully everything is resolved and we move on. In the event that it is conceptualized fully resolved, we are looking at all the different scenarios. Which is prudent.

“They are collective discussions that involve the organizing committee, the ICC, all the members. We will keep everyone up to date if anything changes.

“But for now, it improved just under seven months later … I noticed I had a little time,” he added.

The postponed AFL and NRL seasons will now surely last well beyond September if they resume.

“We really feel the winter codes, obviously improving making it very difficult,” Hockley said.

“In the event that they have extended seasons … we still believe that the World Cup is a really solid proposition that might not come back here in 10 or 20 years.”

“He discussed very encouraged by the acceptance in terms of ticket sales,” he added.

Speculation abounds that the T20 World Cup could be canceled. The BCCI is now looking at the window from October to November to organize the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is suspended until April 15, and the chances of it being held in the near future are highly unlikely.

But the move can only be possible if the ICC decides to postpone the World T20 to be held later in the year.

However, ICC has made it clear that the T20 World Cup is still underway as planned and there has been no talk of postponement.
