KTM Motorsport Director, Pit Beirer praised the commitment of their test driver Dani Pedrosa. The reason, he insisted he would not pave the MotoGP 2020 event despite getting a wildcard when appearing at Jerez.
‘So far Dani has not shown an interest in participating in the race. But I have long erased the word ‘impossible’ from my vocabulary. I cannot look into Dani’s heart. But so far this is not a problem for us at all,’ explained Beirer quoted from Speedweek, Tuesday (1/7/2020).
Red Bull KTM employs two test racers namely Pedrosa and Mika Kallio. Beirer said that although the composition of the regular drivers was not ideal, the team at least had no obstacles during testing. Because Pedrosa and Kallio can carry out their duties very well.
Because of that, Beirer stressed that Pedrosa was right to behave that he would not race using a KTM motorbike during the MotoGP 2020. Although it will be a very emotional story, it will not help the team in the iron horse development project.
‘We have a very clear agreement, Pedrosa will not and may not race for us. As testers, he is currently too valuable for us. Such a single race will be a big emotional story. But that will not help us in the long run with our MotoGP project,’ Beirer said.
