AS Roma will face Juventus in the 2019/2020 Coppa Italia quarter-finals. Certainty was obtained after the Capital Wolf defeated Parma with a score of 2-0 at Ennio Tardini Stadium on Friday (17/1).
Lorenzo Pellegrini became the protagonist actor in this match. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder scored two winning goals for Roma. Pellegrini wants to dedicate these two goals to Nicolo Zaniolo.
The young Roma player will undergo a recovery process in the next five to six months. Therefore, Pellegrini wants to share that happiness with his teammate.
‘Apart from my family, I dedicate this goal to Nicolo Zaniolo. He is like a younger brother to me. I love him and hope to see him back on the field soon – because we need him,’ Pellegrini was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
It was Rome’s first victory in 2020, after starting the New Year with defeats against Torino and Juventus in Serie A. ‘This game is doubly important for us – besides qualifying for the next round it is important to win because it was never fun to start the year with two defeat,’ added Pellegrini.
‘Today we showed our desire to win – you will not lose it after two matches, but it is still important that we get the result – for our confidence.’
