Karim Benzema’s future with Real Madrid is back in the conversation. Media in Spain claim the French striker has agreed to extend his contract with Los Blancos.
The Benzema contract with Real Madrid actually ended in June 2022. However, the club intends to secure his services by increasing salaries and extending the contract for the next year.
According to the RCM Sport report, Friday (1/24/2020), Benzema has a very close relationship with the club’s president, Florentino Perez. Perez plays an important role in negotiating Benzema’s new contract.
‘Announcement of this new contract can be done now (winter) or the end of the season,’ quoted the RCM Sports report quoted by Tribuna.
An unnamed RCM Sports source named Benzema as a player that El Real relied so much on upon. Even though he is no longer young, the 32-year-old Algerian player is considered irreplaceable.
Benzema is often the decisive winner of Real Madrid. In total, he has scored 16 goals and 7 assists for El Real this season.
