Tottenham narrowly lost 0-1 on their turf to Frankie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt’s Ajax Amsterdam. True to form, the players led by Erik Ten Hag were very enterprising with a very high intensity of match entry.
Donny van de Beek’s 15th-minute goal put the Dutch on track in the first leg of the first semi-final. Dominating overall in the first half, they made it through the second half to the advantage of the Spurs.
So young and yet so experienced, the Ajax players are holding their ground and coming home with a slight advantage over the Londoners. Without Son and Kane among others, the Spurs will take over the South Korean for the return match at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
